Product Change Notification - PCN 001020

We would like to inform you that Moxa is going to make changes to the EDS-2005-EL(P) Series and EDS-2008-EL(P) Series.
These changes will be implemented by running change from April 2024.
Please review the details below to determine how these changes will affect your products and/or operations.
What will change?
To maintain a consistent appearance across the EDS-2000 family, including the EDS-2000-EL(P) Series, EDS-G2000-EL(P) Series, and EDS-2000-ML Series.
We will change the material of the RJ45 connectors and the DIN-rail clip.
On top of that, we will increase the Multicast Filtering function to comply with PROFINET CC-A.
These changes will not affect the product's form, functions, or regulatory approvals.
The following changes will be implemented in the new versions:
- The plastic RJ45 connectors will be changed to metal RJ45 connectors and support shielding
cables.
RJ45 sockets will also lower by 0.5mm when the device is placed vertically. - The plastic DIN-rail clip will be changed to a metal DIN-rail clip.
- For the fiber model (ST/SC), the fiber sockets will move forward by 2.0mm when the device is placed vertically.
- Add Multicast Filtering function (compliant with PROFINET CC-A*).
When the QoS DIP switch is enabled, multicast filtering is also enabled.
*PROFINET CC-A: Block LLDP & PROFINET PTCP-Delay traffic by filtering out the frames with a destination MAC address
within the range of 01-80-C2-00-00-02 to 01-80-C2-00-00-0F.

When will the new versions be available?
We will keep supplying the current version and perform a running change from April 2024
to phase in the V2.0.0 version.
